It
is a possibilty that people sometimes come into contact with a wild animal. Like other animals, wild animals and primates
can get diseases. Some of these diseases, called zoonoses, can cause illness in people. Since wild animals (including bats,
raccoons, opossums, squirrels, skunks, etc..) can carry diseases that are dangerous to people, we
discourage direct contact with wildlife. The listings below will give a brief description of these diseases
